About MDFormats

MDFormats is a set of browser-based tools for turning Markdown into usable documents. Markdown to Word and Markdown to PDF are the primary workflows; the surrounding tools support common preparation and conversion tasks.

It is for people who keep a readable Markdown source but still need a document they can review, share, edit, or print.

Paste Markdown into a workspace or import a supported Markdown file, review the browser preview, then download or print the result. The conversion path is designed to run in the browser rather than send document content to an MDFormats server.

A preview helps you check structure and content. It is not a promise of identical layout in every office app, printer, or font environment.

The current product focuses on Markdown conversion and preparation. It does not provide accounts, subscriptions, payments, cloud document storage, or server-side document conversion.

Some tools have explicit limits. For example, PDF to Markdown is for PDFs with a text layer and does not perform OCR on scanned documents.

We prefer clear limits over overstated compatibility claims. When an output can vary because of a browser, a remote image, a printer, or a document application, the tool should say so before you rely on it.

MDFormats is built to be useful without requiring an account or asking users to give up control of their documents.
